RESP Contribution And Grant Rules For 2018

RESP Contribution And Grant Rules For 2018

One of the main benefits of RESP accounts is the federal Canadian Educational Savings Grant (CESG).  This grant is 20% of any eligible contributions in an RESP account.

How the resp alberta grant system works
Let’s say you open an RESP account for your bouncing new baby and contribute $1,000 into the account. Your financial institution will send the account and contribution information to the Canadian government for grant approval. If the grant is approved, the institution receives the grant money and deposits it into your account.

Buy The RESP Book on Amazon

The math
20% of the $1,000 contribution is $200, so you will now have an extra $200 in the account courtesy of the Canadian government. This basically gives you an extra 20% one-time return on your contribution.

Please note that additional RESP grants are available for lower income families – Check it out, the income thresholds are higher than you think.
Quebec has additional RESP grants as well.
Basic RESP contribution rules and numbers to know

$2,500 – Amount of annual grant-eligible contribution room accrued each year starting in 2007 or the year the child was born (whichever is later). The contribution room continues accruing up to and including the year when the child turns 17 years old. This amount is based on the calendar year and not the birth date.
$2,000 – Amount of annual grant-eligible contribution room accrued each year starting from the year the child was born or 1998 (whichever is later) up to and including 2006.
20% – Amount of grant earned on an eligible contribution. For example: a $1,000 contribution would earn a grant of $200, if that contribution is eligible for a grant. There are additional grants available for lower income families.
$500 – Maximum amount of grant a beneficiary is eligible to receive for each calendar year from the year they were born or 1998 (whichever is later) to the year they turn 17 years old. This amount was only $400 for years prior to 2007.  A calendar year is from January 1st to December 31st.
$7,200 – Lifetime grant limit per beneficiary. If you contribute $2,500 every year, you will hit the maximum grant level in the fifteenth year, and no more grants will be paid to the beneficiary. This limit includes additional grants available to lower income families.
$50,000 – Lifetime contribution limit per beneficiary. Because there is no annual limit, you could potentially make one single contribution of $50,000 to an RESP if you choose.
Contribution room carry over. One of the great things about the RESP is that you can carry over unused contribution room into future years. However, there is a catch: Only one previous year’s worth of contributions can be used each year.
Contributions are not tax-deductible.  You won’t get a tax slip, and you can’t deduct RESP contributions from your taxable income.
Questrade Democratic Pricing - 1 cent per share, $4.95 min / $9.95 max

For example: If you start an account for your six-year-old child, you can contribute $2,500 (this year’s contribution room) plus another $2,500 (from previously unused contribution room) for a total of $5,000, to receive a grant of $1,000. You are allowed to contribute more than $5,000 in this scenario, but there will be no grant paid on the amount above $5,000. When calculating contribution room carryover from past years, don’t forget that the contribution limit was only $2,000 prior to 2007.
RESP contribution examples
Let’s do some examples to clarify exactly how this works.

Example 1 – Simplest example

Steve was born in 2010. His parents are broke, but one kindly grandmother decides to open an RESP account for him.

She opened the account in 2010 and has $2,500 of contribution room available. She contributes $1,500 to the account in 2010, so the RESP grant is $300 (20% of $1,500).

In 2011, she contributes $1,200, thereby qualifying for a $240 grant.

Example 2 – A more complicated example

Little Johnny was born in 2006. His parents decide in 2010 to set up an RESP account for him. They want to know how much money they can contribute each year to catch up on all the missed government grants.

Let’s add up the current contribution room.

2006 – $2,000 of contribution room

2007 – $2,500 (new rules)

2008 – $2,500

2009 – $2,500

2010 – $2,500

In 2010, the couple has $2,500 of contribution room for the current year plus $9,500 of contribution room from previous years.

Since the rule is that you can only contribute up to $2,500 of previously carried over contribution room each year in addition to the current contribution room, this means they can contribute this year’s amount ($2,500) and another $2,500 for a total of $5,000, which gives a grant of 20% or $1,000 for 2010. Since they only used $2,500 of their available $9,500 of carried over contribution room, they now have $7,000 in contribution room to carry over for the future.

In 2011, they can contribute another $5,000 for a $1,000 grant. $4,500 of contribution room is carried forward to the next year.
In 2012, they can contribute another $5,000 for a $1,000 grant. $2,000 of contribution room is carried forward to the next year.
In 2013, they can contribute only $4,500. $2,500 from the current year plus $2,000 they carried over from the past.
In 2014 and beyond, they can only contribute $2,500 each year and expect to receive the full grant of $500.

Deep Cleaning Your Teeth: When To Do It

Deep Cleaning Your Teeth: When To Do It

Deep cleaning your teeth might sound like something you should do after you've missed a few visits to the dentist or eaten a particularly sticky, messy meal. A deep cleaning is actually a specific procedure performed by your dental hygienist to treat gum and periodontal disease, dentist Mill Creek Washington .
It's often completed because a person has not had regular professional cleaning appointments every six months.

The Need for Deep Cleaning

When going to the dentist, the dental hygienist will use an instrument called a probe to measure the area around your teeth to see if you have any pocketing (area between the tooth and gum where bacteria will form). The depth of the gum tissue between the teeth and gums are called pockets when it is five millimeters or more. The American Academy of Periodontology recommends that every adult receive a periodontal evaluation each year to determine whether additional treatment is needed. Measuring pocket depth is just one part of a comprehensive dental evaluation.

Ideally, normal healthy pockets will be no more than 3 millimeters deep, according to the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR). If the pockets are greater than 5 millimeters, your dentist might prescribe a deep scaling and root planing appointment with the dental hygienist.

Deep Cleaning Process

Deep cleaning is also known in the dental world as scaling and root planing. Scaling involves removing plaque and tartar from the surface of the teeth and from the pocket area between the teeth and gums, according to the NIDCR. The dental hygienist can perform scaling and root planing using either electriceor ultrasonic instruments or manual scaling tools.

The other part of deep cleaning is root planing. The dental hygienist will use a scaling instrument to remove plaque and tartar from the surface of the roots of your teeth. A scaling and root planing procedure will require a minimum of two visits as an appointment. A follow-up visit may be necessary to confirm that your gums and teeth are getting healthier and there is no pocket depth.

Care after Scaling and Root Planing Appointments

Ideally, after this deep cleaning appointment, the bacteria in the pockets of the teeth will be removed and in the next few weeks the gums should become healthier if the person is doing oral hygiene everyday. The optimal cleaning toothpaste your dental professional will recommend is Colgate Total toothpaste. If an additional mouthrinse is required, your dentist might prescribe an antibacterial mouthwash, such as Colgate® PerioGard®, to reduce bacteria in your mouth.

If the deep scaling and 3 month visits to the dentist aren't enough to reverse periodontal disease, seeing a periodontist for a consultation should be required and determination of future treatment in regards to surgery should be considered.
Step-By-Step Teeth Cleaning Process

Step-By-Step Teeth Cleaning Process

Routine dental checkups typically consist of teeth cleaning.

During teeth cleaning, the dentist aims to remove tarter, plaque, Family Dental Care of Mill Creek , and stains that have accumulated on the surface of the teeth. While daily brushing and flossing can significantly help to reduce tarter buildup, only a professional teeth cleaning session can maximize your oral hygiene health.

Most dentists recommend having your teeth professionally cleaned every six months.

During your teeth cleaning session, here is what you can expect to happen.

Scaling is often the first step in the teeth cleaning process. During scaling, your dentist will use a handheld tool to remove hard calculus from tooth surfaces. If the amount of calculus is minimal, a manual scaler will typically be used to remove deposits of tarter by simply scraping them off. For larger amounts of tarter, the dentist may use an ultrasonic scaler, which is an electronic scaler that removes larger pieces of tarter using a gentle vibration, coupled with a stream of water.

Tooth polishing consists of polishing the tooth surface with a prophy cup, a small, rubber motorized cup attached to an abrasive polishing compound. The main goal of polishing teeth is to make it more difficult for plaque to accumulate on the tooth surfaces, due to its new smooth texture. Polishing also gives the teeth a shiny, clean look, and can help remove any unsightly surface stains.

Once your teeth have been scaled and polished, your dentist may recommend a fluoride treatment. Fluoride is a mineral that helps to strengthen the enamel, or outermost layer of teeth, which is crucial in resisting acid attacks that contribute to tooth decay. During a fluoride treatment, the dentist will apply the fluoride solution, which is usually a gel, rinse, or varnish. To make the application of fluoride more pleasant, it comes in a wide range of flavors, such as mint, cherry, strawberry, and chocolate.

In the majority of cases, teeth cleaning sessions are fast and painless. Professional dental cleanings help to reinforce healthy oral health care routines at home, and provide the dentist with an opportunity to locate areas in the oral cavity that need special attention. Due to the painless nature of teeth cleaning, no anesthetics are needed, and the cleaning session is usually over in less than an hour. During your dental cleaning, educational advice may be given to ensure that you’re properly caring for your teeth at home.

Ten Signs You Have The Best Dentist

Ten Signs You Have The Best Dentist

With so many dentists to choose from, how do you know you've chosen the right one? For starters, the best dentist is more focused on what to do rather than what not to do when working with a patient. If you're wondering whether or not yours is top of the line, consider these 10 things all good dentists do for their clients , Apple Blossom Dentistry  .

1. Actively Listens

A good dentist wants to help patients, but the best dentists hone their listening skills just as much as they hone their physical technique. A great doctor takes the time to listen to patients' concerns, and never rushes to levy a treatment with which someone may secretly feel uncomfortable.

2. Educates the Patient

Because you didn't go to dental school, you naturally rely on your dentist to educate you on oral health, medical issues, good habits and treatment options you aren't aware of. The dentist who is perfect for you is happy to take the time to explain your options and work with you to enhance your confidence – and your smile.

3. Respects Patient Time and Resources

Constantly left in the waiting room or paying for pricey treatments you can't afford? These are both red flags your dental practice doesn't respect the time or budget of their clientele. Good dentists are as punctual as you are, and take your bottom line into consideration when suggesting treatment. This includes swapping out costly, often subjective in-office whitening procedures for items like Colgate® Optic White™ Professional Take-Home Kit.

4. Keeps a Clean Office

The American Dental Association (ADA) suggests checking to ensure your dentist's office is "clean, neat and orderly." If you notice things like old gloves and dirty instruments not stowed away, your dentist could be contaminating the examination room, which spreads germs and can make you and your family sick.

5. Doesn't Upsell

You want a dentist – not a salesperson. Good dentists won't try to upsell you on products and treatments you don't absolutely need and that you didn't ask for prior to an examination.

6. Gets to Know You

Feeling like just another file on the shelf doesn't just give you an impersonal experience; it can actually affect the level and quality of care you receive. When your dentist takes the time to get to know you, he or she can provide better care options that work according to your medical history.

7. Wants a Long-Term Relationship

The best dentist is invested in making you a long-term patient, which means following up when it's time for an appointment, scheduling regular screenings or X-rays and making you and your family feel recognized when you're in the office. If your dentist treats your appointment like a one-time job, it might be time to look for someone else.

8. Cares about Staff

Not only do the best doctors care about patients, but they are kind and attentive to staff as well. It's worth observing the way your dentist interacts with coworkers, because it gives you an idea of his or her management style and the mood among the staff working with you.

9. Follows Up

Some dental procedures can be long and arduous, leaving you feeling out of sorts for a few hours afterward. A great dentist will follow up with you after a particularly long or difficult procedure, just to make sure you're feeling OK and that there are no complications hindering your recovery.

10. Values You as a Patient

You don't want to feel like just another item on your dentist's to-do list. The best dentists have a way of letting their patients know they care about them personally. They're interested in their patients' lives, concerns and families, and are eager to become a part of their general care team.

Choosing a dentist isn't a decision you take lightly. He or she should see you as a patient for life, not just once or twice. Teaming up with the best medical professionals means working with people who understand your concerns and know your history as a patient. The best dentist always gives you the care that you and your family deserve.

What are we looking to achieve, at the end of the day? In other words, what does it mean to us to have X number of Snapchat friends, or X number of Story views?

How many hours, days, months, or years do we estimate it will take to reach our Snapchat goals? What does success on Snapchat look like to us?

Who is our ideal Snapchat friend? How do we reach this person? (By “person” we mean audience personas).

What methods will we use to attract followers on Snapchat? Why would they want to see our Stories, anyway?

What will our overall message be for our Snapchat friends and followers? How will we stick to this message with our many Snaps and Stories?

What are our competitors doing on Snapchat? How will we evaluate what’s working for them, and what isn’t? Who else do our ideal Snapchat friends follow? How can we leverage those influencers? How to Play Poker with poker88

How to Play Poker with poker88

Poker is a game that may take a day or years to learn, but a lifetime to master. There are many variations of the game, though Texas Hold'em is the most popular. While each variation has its own set of rules, the basics of the game remain the same.

Poker is a game of chance and strategy as well as close observation. It involves some psychology, such as reading the players around you to decide when to fold or bluff, or knowing when to call an opponent's bluff.

play now poker 88

Once you understand the basic rules, hands, and vocabulary of the game, start focusing on strategy in order to master poker.

1 Memorize the 10 basic 5-card hands and their ranking (highest to lowest).

This is crucial to being successful at any poker game. To start familiarizing yourself with the different hands, print out a "cheat sheet" and study it.
Knowing the different hands will help you determine whether your hand is good enough to bet on, or whether it’s time to bluff or fold: Keep in mind that if two people face off with the same type of hand, the hand with the higher-ranking card(s) wins. If the hands have the exact same ranks of cards (suit does not matter), it is a tie and the prize, if any, is split evenly.

2 Play for bragging rights with friends or for small change.

When you’re first starting out, avoid playing for money. Or, set the ante extremely low and get used to placing “chips” in the pot by instead using small coins for your bets. This is a fun, low-pressure way to practice your skills and try your luck. You could also set a small limit for each person, such as $2 to $5, and simply watch the game once you’ve spent your limit or used up your chips that you bought from the banker.

3 Learn some basic poker table etiquette.

No one wants to feel like the rookie at the table, so learning some basic etiquette can help you to appear more knowledgeable and feel more comfortable during the game. Remember to be respectful of other players, and if you’re not sure of the etiquette in a certain situation, go with a more reserved action over a loud, flamboyant show. Pay attention to the action to know when it’s your turn. Being distracted means you’ll slow down the game, look disrespectful, and irritate the other players.
Small talk at the table is generally okay, but a rousing conversation, plus revealing cards or lying about your hand is considered bad etiquette. Unless you’re playing with friends, try to limit talking to the occasional comment or light exchange. Instead of “slow rolling,” or slowly revealing your winning hand to your opponent, be respectful and reveal all your cards right away at the end of the hand.

4 Learn how to deal.

Unless you’re playing at a casino, you’ll likely rotate the dealer/button position with each hand. The dealer shuffles, then distributes the cards in a clockwise circle, from the first player to the dealer's left—and to the dealer last. The cards must be dealt face down, 1 card at a time, until everyone has 5 cards. The remaining deck becomes the "draw-pool" and is placed face down in the middle of the table to be drawn from off the top. After each hand, the dealer/button position passes to the next player to the left. If the dealer is the same person at all times, such as at a casino table, then only the button position passes on to the next player (the last to receive the dealt card on each pass).

5 Best Weighted Blankets to Help You Sleep and Chill Out

5 Best Weighted Blankets to Help You Sleep and Chill Out

It’s tough to feel Bulletproof when you’re not getting enough sleep. You’re doing all the right things — no caffeine after 2:00 p.m., shutting down electronics a couple of hours before bed, and blacking out your room. But if you still have trouble nodding off or staying asleep, here’s another tool to add to your arsenal: a weighted blanket.

Originally developed for children with autism, weighted blankets have entered the mainstream for their purported calming and sleep-inducing effects.

Weighted blankets are typically filled with plastic poly-pellets, making them heavier than normal bedding. The way the blanket molds to the body is a form of deep pressure therapy (DPT) — firm squeezing, stroking, cuddling, hugging, or swaddling that relaxes the nervous system.

What weight should you buy?

Weighted blankets typically weigh between two and 24 pounds. Figuring out what weight to buy can be tricky, and depends a lot on personal taste. Most companies allow returns anywhere from a week to one month after purchase, so if the blanket doesn’t feel right, you generally can exchange it for another weight or size.

For a child or a teenager, choose a blanket that’s 10 percent of their body weight plus an extra couple of pounds to make room while they grow. So for a 40-pound child, you’ll buy a 6-pound blanket. However, this formula works out to be pretty heavy for an adult. Most companies take the guesswork out and offer handy guides on their websites for which blanket to choose based on your weight (note that a weighted blanket should never be used on a child under three).

I was surprised at how heavy the blankets felt — I struggled even to lift some off the ground using both hands. Just something to keep in mind so you don’t pull your back out. And they don’t come cheap — expect to shell out an eye-watering $200 or more for an adult-sized blanket.

We took the most popular weighted blankets to bed to see how they performed. Here, the best weighted blankets to help you sleep:

I chose the company’s 14 pound “large” blanket in volcanic gray (with a $205 price tag). SensaCalm suggests their large size — 38 by 72 inches — for women, while men do better with their full size (56 by 72 inches). They also offer a small, medium, and queen size option.

My review: The polyfill insert gives it a pillowy effect, so it feels more like a normal duvet — ideal for nighttime sleep. The company says that a weighted blanket should be sized to fit the person, and not the bed. “Because the blanket is weighted, if it hangs over the sides, you will spend the entire night fighting to keep it from sliding into the floor,” says the company on its website.

Yet the blanket still seemed a bit narrow, and I’d have preferred a bit more room. If you’re someone who likes to sleep with your limbs splayed out and you move around a lot, the large size likely won’t provide enough coverage, and I’d suggest you go for their full- or queen-size blanket. But if you like the idea of feeling cocooned, opt for the smaller size.

The Magic Blanket

I tried the “Magic Blanket Lite” — their most popular blanket — priced at $209. It weighs 10 pounds and measures 42 by 78 inches (the company sells blankets up to 24 pounds).

I chose the chenille fabric in charcoal color.

They created the Lite option after some customers found their same-sized heavier blankets too intense, says Katie Zivalich, director of communications at The Magic Blanket.

“[The Lite] is intended to feel like a gentle hug,” says Zivalich.

Other fabrics include minky (silky), fleece, cotton, waterproof, or a mix-and-match option. But don’t plan on sharing this blanket.

“It’s intended for one individual so that the blanket can mold to the body,” said Zivalich.

Our review: The chenille fabric feels incredibly luxurious and soft, and the charcoal color looks stylish and works with most decor schemes.

The blanket itself was lighter than the others that I tried — a good or a bad thing, depending on what you’re looking for. It felt just slightly heavier than a normal blanket — familiar, with some nice added weight. I found it ideal for kicking back on the couch while watching Netflix or for an afternoon nap, but if you’re looking for something to really weigh you down, you might want to consider one of the company’s heavier offerings.

This drum bearing inspection plate provides access to the dryer's circlip (also known as an e-ring). This clip holds the rear drum shaft in place.

Newer models do not have this circlip or the drum bearing inspection plate.

If yours is an older GE model with an inspection plate, remove the plate now. It will be held in place with a single screw.

Removing the inspection plate will allow you access to the dryer's rear drum bearing.

Now remove the front panel of the dryer.

There are a couple of different ways this is accomplished.

Whichever method you use is dependent upon your model. Some older models have two spring catch clips under the cabinet top, one on the left side, and one on the right side of the front. Use a putty knife, or some other flat and thin object to wedge in under the cabinet top.

Release both spring catches and lift the cabinet top off the dryer. In some newer models, there will be screws joining the cabinet front panel to the cabinet top. You will have to open the door in order to find these screws.

Once they are found, remove them and then slide the cabinet top forward and lift it off the unit.

Next, there are two screws located in the bottom of the front panel, one in each corner.

Loosen these, but do not remove them just yet. Locate and remove the two screws at the top inside of the dryer's front panel. Again, there is one screw in each corner.

Proceed to remove the other two screws you have just loosened.

Disconnect the door switch wires and then lift the front panel off your dryer.

Injection moulding - plastic injection mould

Injection moulding - plastic injection mould

Injection moulding BrE or Injection molding AmE, is a manufacturing process for producing parts by injecting molten material into a mould.

plastic injection mould or Injection moulding can be performed with a host of materials mainly including metals, (for which the process is called die-casting), glasses, elastomers, confections, and most commonly thermoplastic and thermosetting polymers. Material for the part is fed into a heated barrel, mixed (Using a helical shaped screw), and injected (Forced) into a mould cavity, where it cools and hardens to the configuration of the cavity.

After a product is designed, usually by an industrial designer or an engineer, moulds are made by a mould-maker (or toolmaker) from metal, usually either steel or aluminium, and precision-machined to form the features of the desired part.

Injection moulding is widely used for manufacturing a variety of parts, from the smallest components to entire body panels of cars. Advances in 3D printing technology, using photopolymers which do not melt during the injection moulding of some lower temperature thermoplastics, can be used for some simple injection moulds.

Parts to be injection moulded must be very carefully designed to facilitate the moulding process; the material used for the part, the desired shape and features of the part, the material of the mould, and the properties of the moulding machine must all be taken into account. The versatility of injection moulding is facilitated by this breadth of design considerations and possibilities.
njection moulding uses a ram or screw-type plunger to force molten plastic material into a mould cavity; this solidifies into a shape that has conformed to the contour of the mould.

It is most commonly used to process both thermoplastic and thermosetting polymers, with the volume used of the former being considerably higher.

Thermoplastics are prevalent due to characteristics which make them highly suitable for injection moulding, such as the ease with which they may be recycled, their versatility allowing them to be used in a wide variety of applications,[3]:8–9 and their ability to soften and flow upon heating. Thermoplastics also have an element of safety over thermosets; if a thermosetting polymer is not ejected from the injection barrel in a timely manner, chemical crosslinking may occur causing the screw and check valves to seize and potentially damaging the injection moulding machine.

Injection moulding consists of the high pressure injection of the raw material into a mould which shapes the polymer into the desired shape.
Moulds can be of a single cavity or multiple cavities. In multiple cavity moulds, each cavity can be identical and form the same parts or can be unique and form multiple different geometries during a single cycle. Moulds are generally made from tool steels, but stainless steels and aluminium moulds are suitable for certain applications. Aluminium moulds are typically ill-suited for high volume production or parts with narrow dimensional tolerances, as they have inferior mechanical properties and are more prone to wear, damage, and deformation during the injection and clamping cycles; however, aluminium moulds are cost-effective in low-volume applications, as mould fabrication costs and time are considerably reduced.

Many steel moulds are designed to process well over a million parts during their lifetime and can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to fabricate.

When thermoplastics are moulded, typically pelletised raw material is fed through a hopper into a heated barrel with a reciprocating screw. Upon entrance to the barrel, the temperature increases and the Van der Waals forces that resist relative flow of individual chains are weakened as a result of increased space between molecules at higher thermal energy states.

This process reduces its viscosity, which enables the polymer to flow with the driving force of the injection unit. The screw delivers the raw material forward, mixes and homogenises the thermal and viscous distributions of the polymer, and reduces the required heating time by mechanically shearing the material and adding a significant amount of frictional heating to the polymer.

The material feeds forward through a check valve and collects at the front of the screw into a volume known as a shot. A shot is the volume of material that is used to fill the mould cavity, compensate for shrinkage, and provide a cushion (approximately 10% of the total shot volume, which remains in the barrel and prevents the screw from bottoming out) to transfer pressure from the screw to the mould cavity. When enough material has gathered, the material is forced at high pressure and velocity into the part forming cavity. The exact amount of shrinkage is a function of the resin being used, and can be relatively predictable.

To prevent spikes in pressure, the process normally uses a transfer position corresponding to a 95–98% full cavity where the screw shifts from a constant velocity to a constant pressure control. Often injection times are well under 1 second.

Once the screw reaches the transfer position the packing pressure is applied, which completes mould filling and compensates for thermal shrinkage, which is quite high for thermoplastics relative to many other materials. The packing pressure is applied until the gate (cavity entrance) solidifies. Due to its small size, the gate is normally the first place to solidify through its entire thickness.

Once the gate solidifies, no more material can enter the cavity; accordingly, the screw reciprocates and acquires material for the next cycle while the material within the mould cools so that it can be ejected and be dimensionally stable. This cooling duration is dramatically reduced by the use of cooling lines circulating water or oil from an external temperature controller. Once the required temperature has been achieved, the mould opens and an array of pins, sleeves, strippers, etc. are driven forward to demould the article. Then, the mould closes and the process is repeated.
For a two shot mould, two separate materials are incorporated into one part. This type of injection moulding is used to add a soft touch to knobs, to give a product multiple colours, to produce a part with multiple performance characteristics.

For thermosets, typically two different chemical components are injected into the barrel. These components immediately begin irreversible chemical reactions which eventually crosslinks the material into a single connected network of molecules. As the chemical reaction occurs, the two fluid components permanently transform into a viscoelastic solid. Solidification in the injection barrel and screw can be problematic and have financial repercussions; therefore, minimising the thermoset curing within the barrel is vital. This typically means that the residence time and temperature of the chemical precursors are minimised in the injection unit.

The residence time can be reduced by minimising the barrel's volume capacity and by maximising the cycle times. These factors have led to the use of a thermally isolated, cold injection unit that injects the reacting chemicals into a thermally isolated hot mould, which increases the rate of chemical reactions and results in shorter time required to achieve a solidified thermoset component. After the part has solidified, valves close to isolate the injection system and chemical precursors, and the mould opens to eject the moulded parts. Then, the mould closes and the process repeats.

Pre-moulded or machined components can be inserted into the cavity while the mould is open, allowing the material injected in the next cycle to form and solidify around them. This process is known as Insert moulding and allows single parts to contain multiple materials. This process is often used to create plastic parts with protruding metal screws, allowing them to be fastened and unfastened repeatedly. This technique can also be used for In-mould labelling and film lids may also be attached to moulded plastic containers.

A parting line, sprue, gate marks, and ejector pin marks are usually present on the final part.98 None of these features are typically desired, but are unavoidable due to the nature of the process. Gate marks occur at the gate which joins the melt-delivery channels (sprue and runner) to the part forming cavity. Parting line and ejector pin marks result from minute misalignments, wear, gaseous vents, clearances for adjacent parts in relative motion, and/or dimensional differences of the mating surfaces contacting the injected polymer. Dimensional differences can be attributed to non-uniform, pressure-induced deformation during injection, machining tolerances, and non-uniform thermal expansion and contraction of mould components, which experience rapid cycling during the injection, packing, cooling, and ejection phases of the process.

Mould components are often designed with materials of various coefficients of thermal expansion. These factors cannot be simultaneously accounted for without astronomical increases in the cost of design, fabrication, processing, and quality monitoring. The skillful mould and part designer will position these aesthetic detriments in hidden areas if feasible.

10 Great Websites To Help You Learn Web Development Online

Codeacademy is another course-based online learning site, but it takes a slightly different approach. For one, it is completely free. And rather than offer you a set of videos to learn from, you are walked through interactive examples which get you coding right away. Each example will show another facet of a particular programming language, like HTML, CSS or PHP, and through these examples Website Development Dubai  you build up knowledge of the code’s structure and semantics. Samples allow you to type code right in the browser, and your code is evaluated on the fly by the platform, accompanied by explanations and walkthroughs.

Without the background that comes through videos, you may miss some of the theory behind programming, but you will also get started building websites almost right away. And once you’ve learned how to use a language, it might be a bit easier to go out into the world and figure out the why.
Codeacademy has a fairly small number of courses available. Most teach a specific programming language from beginning to end, but the site also offers two courses on how to make a website with no knowledge of development at all. If you’re a “learn by doing” type, then Codeacademy might be the right way to go.

Dubai Website Designing CompanyIf you’re looking for a learning resource that’s a bit more WordPress focused, then WPSessions might be a good option. The site was started by Brian Richards, and works by organizing groups of video tutorials into sessions. Some sessions are free, though most are paid, and each focuses on a new topic in web development. For instance, the “Working with BuddyPress” session deals exclusively in how to use BuddyPress and WordPress. Though the site is more WordPress focused than any other listed here, many of the sessions take you through the basics of web development before moving on to how they apply to WordPress. The “WordPress and Backbone.js” course, for instance, focuses on the fundamentals of Javascript before moving on to how to get started with the Backbone Javascript libraryEach session has three speakers, at about an hour each. And Brian adds a unique twist to the site, by allowing you to attend the session live, and interact with the speakers in real time. After a session is over, it goes up on the site for purchase. WPSessions is in the midst of an expansion right now, and is going to offer more and more courses, comprehensive dives into different areas of WordPress development.

Tuts Plus
Tuts Plus actually offers two different way to learn. Their site is filled with free tutorials that focus on just one thing, like how to get started with a specific Javascript library, or the fundamentals of CSS. These tutorials are great when you’re just starting out, because they often come with code samples you can poke around in and take you step by step through the process of creating a website. If you’re looking for a quick way to just start learning, Tuts Plus tutorials will have you diving in in no time. And there are plenty of WordPress tutorials alongside HTML, CSS and Javascript tutorials.
But the site also offers a premium option which takes a more course-based approach. You can choose to purchase individual courses, which will teach you a specific skill in web development, or subscribe to a monthly plan which gives you access to all of the courses. Tuts Plus focuses exclusively on web development, from design to the front-end to the back-end. It allows you to dive deep into a web development skill or programming language, and is one of the only learning resources out there that evaluate and demonstrate how to use various libraries out there, like Backbone, Ember, Laravel, Sinatra, Ruby on Rails, and a whole lot more. For an absolute beginner, Tuts Plus may be a bit advanced. It starts at about the novice level and goes up from there. But if you’re trying to expand your basic knowledge, and make really cool websites, Tuts Plus will show you how.

Khan Academy
Khan Academy was founded by Salman Khan in 2006, and has since grown into a full non-profit online education platform. It offers courses in a range of subjects, though it’s focus tends to be on Math and Science. Each course has a series of videos that help you learn a new skill, and interactive challenges that guide you along.

The web development section of Khan Academy is still very new, and right now focuses on how to use Javascript. If you’re looking for a good resource on HTML and CSS, you may want to look elsewhere, but it offers a great, free way to get started with JS. I mention this only because at the moment, Khan Academy is in the process of building out their web development section, so it’s something to keep an eye on in the future.

CSS Tricks
Ask any web developer out there for a list of places to learn, and I guarantee they’ll mention CSS Tricks. A lot of web developers learned by checking out tips on CSS Tricks, and following along to Chris’ examples. At the most basic level, CSS Tricks is a repository of knowledge about CSS, HTML and Javascript, from the mind of Chris Coyer. But over the years, it has taken a life of it’s own, and become a complete tool for learning front-end development. Buried in CSS Tricks, you’ll find plenty of quick and practical tips, code snippets, and really basic explanations of complex techniques. New articles are added every week, most with an evergreen feel to them, and will remain relevant for years to come. CSS Tricks is a great resource to turn to if you find yourself stuck, and are looking for a specific solution.

CSS Tricks also has a premium section to it, known as “The Lodge”. For a monthly fee, you can get access to in depth screencasts and video tutorials. Chris often uses WordPress for his projects, so even when he is just talking about basic front-end code, it is often within the context of WordPress sites, which should give you a baseline of familiarity.

Eloquent Javascript
Javascript is definitely the most complex of the front-end languages and will be an immediate obstacle for those looking to learn web development. But if you’re looking to build an interactive website with advanced functionality it will be essential. And as a web developer, it can be what sets you apart.

The language has a few odd quirks to it, and can be a bit difficult to wrap you head around at first. Eloquent Javascript is a book that can help with that. A first edition was written several years ago, but a second updated edition has just been released. The online book walks you through Javascript, from basic fundamentals, to full scale server-side application development. In fact, the book serves as a good introduction to programming generally, and starts by teaching you the basics of computer science before contextualizing those principles in Javascript. The book is free, and each chapter is accompanied by code examples that can be run right from the browser. Throughout the book, you will also encounter code challenges to solve which help solidify your learning. If you’ve reached a point where you have a good amount of HTML and CSS under your belt, but need to get started with Javascript, it’s a worthwhile book, filled with lots of examples and best practices.

Codrops is a resource for web developers at any level, looking for a little inspiration. The site is filled with tutorials and code demos that push front-end code to the limit. Tutorials usually begin with a stunning demo, with animations, or transitions, or dynamic interactions. The demo’s focus on a sole feature, like adding an off-canvas menu, or a preloader. Then, the tutorial walks you through the code and shows you how to get the example up and running. All of the tutorials come with a code package that you can download and look through yourself, so you can see how it all comes together.
Codrops won’t take you from novice to expert, but it is great for those learners looking to stretch their imagination a bit. It takes a “do as I do” approach, coding things up using cutting edge technologies and best practices. One of the best ways to learn web development is to simply dig around existing code, and Codrops offers you lots of opportunities to do so.

10 Great Websites To Help You Learn Web Development Online

Since the beginning of the web, it has been a tradition for designers and developers to share knowledge and keep learning out in the open. For that reason, there are a number of resources available to anyone who wants to learn web development from scratch. Dubai Web Development Company , Over the years, various programs have emerged which allow you to learn the basics of web development, build a portfolio, and start on your career.

Why Learn Development Online Online learning runs a bit counter to the traditional four year university program. Until a few years ago, it was close to impossible to find a web development course in a traditional college setting. In recent years, this has gotten a bit better, but learning web development still requires a lot of self-motivation.

As a still emerging field, your skills as a web developer are often evaluated by the strength of your portfolio rather than your credentials. Building up samples of work is going to be your most valuable asset in the field, and experience is paramount. This isn’t to write-off entirely the value of a proper college education. Rather, it’s to tell you that if you cannot attend a regular university, or have chosen to study something else there, then you are far from lost. A good amount of the web community are self-learners, myself included. The best way to build websites for a living is to start building websites on your own. The strength of your skills, and your own motivation, will be the strongest factors in how far you are able to take it.

Fortunately, there are lots of online resources that can help you get started. We are lucky to be working in an industry that is growing exponentially, and the skills needed are out there for you to learn. home pressure cooker process of cooking food

home pressure cooker process of cooking food

Pressure cooking is the process of cooking food, using water or other cooking liquid, in a sealed vessel known as a pressure cooker. Pressure is created by boiling a liquid, such as water or broth, inside the closed home pressure cooker.

The trapped steam increases the internal pressure and allows the temperature to rise. After use, the pressure is slowly released so that the vessel can be opened safely.

Pressure cooking can be used for quick simulation of the effects of long braising. Almost any food that can be cooked in steam or water-based liquids can be cooked in a pressure cooker

In 1679, French physicist Denis Papin, better known for his studies on steam, invented the steam digester in an attempt to reduce the cooking time of food. His airtight cooker used steam pressure to raise the water's boiling point, thus cooking food more quickly. In 1681, Papin presented his invention to the Royal Society of London, but the Society's members treated his invention as a scientific study. They granted him permission to become a member of the Society afterwards.

In 1864, Georg Gutbrod of Stuttgart began manufacturing pressure cookers made of tinned cast iron.
In 1918, Spain granted a patent for the pressure cooker to Jose Alix Martínez from Zaragoza.

Martínez named it the olla exprés, literally "express cooking pot", under patent number 71143 in the Boletín Oficial de la Propiedad Industrial.[2] In 1924, the first pressure cooking pot recipe book was published, written by José Alix and titled "360 fórmulas de cocina Para guisar con la 'olla expres'",[3] or 360 recipes for cooking with a pressure cooker.

In 1938, Alfred Vischer presented his invention, the Flex-Seal Speed Cooker, in New York City. Vischer's pressure cooker was the first designed for home use, and its success led to competition among American and European manufacturers.[4] At the 1939 New York World's Fair, the National Pressure Cooker Company, later renamed National Presto Industries, introduced its own pressure cooker.
